Bridal Pillbox Hat with Birdcage Veil

A sculptural bridal pillbox hat finished with an attached birdcage veil — refined, modern, and quietly dramatic.

This piece combines the clean structure of a classic pillbox with the softness of a short birdcage veil, creating a bridal look that feels elegant, contemporary, and slightly cinematic. It is especially suited to civil ceremonies, city weddings, registry office looks, intimate celebrations, and brides looking for a modern alternative to the traditional veil.

Each piece is handcrafted at the D’ALMEIDA atelier in Lisbon and finished according to your dress, hairstyle, and overall bridal vision.

The colour and straw quality are selected individually. Choose from soft bridal tones such as off-white, cream white, and ivory, with different straw options available depending on the desired finish and your dress tone.

The birdcage veil is attached to the hat and can be adapted in placement and fall, depending on the final look. We do not sell veils separately; the veil is part of the complete headpiece design.

For the best colour match, we recommend visiting the atelier with your dress reference or fabric sample. If you are not based in Lisbon, you may also send us a fabric swatch by mail so we can advise on the most suitable tone and material.

The headpiece is secured with a discreet elastic. To select the right elastic colour, we will ask for your hair colour when preparing your order.

Fit & sizing

Available in three standard sizes:

S: 54–55 cm
M: 56–57 cm
L: 58–59 cm

Our model has a head perimeter of 56 cm and wears size M.
